Forum 7s - The official website of the Forum 7's
2008 Possibles vs Probables Tournament
The Forum Sevens Possibles v Probables (PVP) tournament are trial matches and open to all all comers.

The PVP is effectively a series of trial matches before the premiership season kicks off.

This is the fourth PVP. For past PVPs, click here.

The idea behind the PVP is to give teams an opportunity to show that they can field a full team and play at a level where they can compete in the full Forum Sevens competition (ie 'the Premiership').

The PVP also allows for new referees to gain experience prior to the premiership season.

Win, lose or draw, the PVP teams with the best organisation will be considered when the invitations for the Forum Sevens competition are issued, early in the new year.

Main points
For the F7s Rules
1. Winning the PVP is not the main criteria to gaining an invitation into the F7s premiership, although it obviously helps.

2. Teams are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the rules. Playing by the rules and exhibiting good sportsmanship goes a long way to gaining an invitation into the F7s premiership.

3. Teams who are organised, compete well, and show an ability to to get a full compliment of players together for each match are more likely to gain an invitation into the F7s premiership.

4. The PVP tournament is designed so that each team gets a minimum of two matches.

5. The PVP are trial games and therefore not recognised as first class matches. They are not recorded as part of a player's or team's premiership or representative record.
The only exception to this is if a PVP match is also played as a premiership match (eg the PVP Final).

2006-2007 PVP teams:
Newtown Bluebags
St George Dragons
